Family Fun

Having a large family and a small budget doesn't always make entertaining the troops an easy task and the other day my 5yr old Mischa wanted something fun and new to do at home on a rainy day. We have not long out there play kitchen up so i had an idea.

Lets play restaurant!

Out came the laptop, printer and laminater and we found some printable menus and shopping list on Pintrest we set them out with some pens and started turning the living room into a restaurant.
Our restaurant's name was Ruby Tuesdays after my youngest daughter :)
Mischa was a waitress and Ellis the Milkshake bar tender (his idea). I pretended to be the one of the customers as well.
Mischa took there drink orders and gave them some napkins and menus then came back for the food orders. Thankfully daddy was home from work so they kept him busy in the kitchen cooking the orders for real. Once there food was cooked he called Mischa to hand it out to everyone. Dessert options on the menu that day were cookies and ice cream or chocolate cake.
Finally the bill came and sure enough they paid with there paper money i laminated earlier.
This was so much fun to do with them and was a little practise on good table manners for my younger ones for when we eat out on holiday.
The kids had a great time and Ive not achieved Super mum....So told me :)

We now have reservations for the weekend and this time I'm the cook.
