1 of the things i like to do to motivate myself to get the cleaning done is find good music to listen to as i work, I'll normally find a play list on you tube i like or something on my phone so i can take it from room to room with me.
Open up the windows and let the breeze flow through, if its cold out just open them a little but it definitely wakes up the senses and gets me moving.
Buying new cleaning products to try always makes me wanna clean if I'm in a cleaning rut and cant really be bothered and we all have those days right? Having new candles is something i get often and i never like to light them if the house is a bit messy, for me it spoils the mood so i like to make sure i get the house clean so i can light my new candles if that makes sense :)
Invite someone over for lunch or a few drinks and you will want to clean up so its nice for when they arrive.
Set a timer for yourself a lot of the times I'll start a room and get distracted by you tube or my blog or twitter so i set myself a 15 minute timer for each room to get me moving and ill just reset if it if i find i need more time for a bigger room.
Start upstairs (if you have one). I'll bring all the dirty laundry down first then start on the bathroom and bedrooms next so all the mess works its way downstairs and out of the front door to the rubbish bins.
