We have 6 kids and our car (my husband drives i don't right now, that's my mission for 2016, yes I'm 32 almost and cant drive but Ive been a little busy wouldn't you say :) since we've had the kids has been a complete wreck inside it can be a bit embarrassing when your getting the kids out at school and tones of toys and books fall all over the place (we do clean it out every Saturday/Sunday but by Wednesday its a wreck again and that's just with the school runs.
It causes my husband so much stress that it was time to sort something out and we have come up with 5 little things that are working for us now and out car is finally staying clean.
5 TIPS !!!!
1. No eating or drinking in the car UNLESS you are prepared to remove all rubbish straight away that stuff builds up fast. If we go to a drive through McDonald's or something i always make sure to put all of the rubbish in the bags they give you and throw it all out as soon as i see a bin. Just by doing this 1 step alone we've cleared about 80% of the mess already.
2. If you kids take toys and books into the car as soon as they leave the car take them back out don't leave then in there unless you have like we do now a little plastic tub that stays in the boot that the kids (mostly my younger ones) keep a few books for long trips and some pens and paper/ drawing supplies to keep them occupied if we are in the car for over 30 Min's.
3. Set a morning or afternoon once a week to clean the car inside and out we usually do ours on either a Saturday or Sunday morning.
4. Buy a car organiser like i said before we have a plastic tun only a small on in the boot but it keeps the kids things tidy and out of the way when there not being used, we also have one for our wellies/ walking shoes for the winter that stays in the boot of the car for when we go on walks with the dogs.
5. When you fill up your car at the petrol station doing a little spot check for anything that shouldn't be in there i.e. rubbish and get rid of it straight away we do this every time we fill up its become a little routine now.
I hope this helps you guys keep on top of things in the car. :)
