Dealing With Sleep Deprivation

As you all know im a mummy to 6 kids all born in the last 12 almost years and that means Ive had alot of lost sleep.

Here are my 4 things Ive used to get me through over the years that i thought Id share with you as I know there are a lot of sleep deprived parents/grandparents out there that would love a few helpful tips.

1. Drink a full cup of cold water first thing in the morning right after you wake up and try to eat something within an hour of waking up, it will really get your engery going for the day.

2. Open the windows if its not to cold and get those blinds/curtains open natural light is a great kickstart for the day.

3. If possible with smaller kids try to take nap but ONLY for 15-20mins any longer and your body with slip into night time mode and you'll find it harder to wake up and carry on your day plus any longer than 20 mins and i would have had trouble getting to sleep at night.

4. Limit your expectaions dont expect to always get a good 8 hours sleep at night once you have kids because trust me when i tell you it rarely happens for the first 5 years ...yes 5 years :( If you can get a good 4-5 hours undesturbed sleep or even 3-4 hours then that was pretty good going in our house. So if you expect a few hours less than you'd like when you finally get those extra few it really makes all the difference to the way you look at your day, you will feel so much brighter and happy about things.

I hope these few little tips help you out like they did me :)
